Retractable Downspout Case Study
Rainguard™ was contacted by Dr. Richard Winston of Florida, who inquired about the possibility of purchasing a nine-foot Rainguard™ extension for his home. Dr. Winston wanted a nine-foot extension to attach to his poolside downspout. This would allow runoff water to empty out into the pool, rather than making a mess on the deck.
At the time, only shorter extensions were being offered, so Rainguard™ jumped to the challenge! A nine-foot downspout extension was manufactured and immediately shipped to his home in Florida. The first rain that fell after Dr. Winston attached the extension, Rainguard unrolled to direct all runoff water properly into his pool, saving his deck and foundation from water damage. When all runoff was expelled, it automatically rolled back up and safely away.
Well, three years later and the Rainguard™ nine-foot extension is still doing its job. It's endured two hurricanes, constant exposure to the baking Florida sun, and the wicked winds of tropical storms.
Needless to say, it has been a popular product ever since!
